Our teacher: student ratio is 1:8 or less

Maximum Class size is 15 students

 

SESSIONS

AM Preschool session begins at 9;00am

PM Preschool session begins at 1:00pm

Extended Hours begin at 8:00am

and end at 5:30pm

Minimum enrollment for all students is at least 2 Sessions on 2 different days.

All Sessions are $20.

Full Day & Extended Care is $40.

 

Some Sessions filler quicker then others, registering early assures space for your child in desired sessions.

Waiting List priority is given to students enrolled in other sessions.

 

AGE

We accept students aged 30 months to 5 years, and must be toilet trained

Our Pre-School is a non-profit, 
Lutheran Christian School, 
administered under the direction of  
Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Our School has been in operation since the church was built in 1967 and is licensed by the State of Michigan and has been accredited by The National Lutheran School Association since 1999.

Our staff are experienced, caring     Christian teachers with degrees in        Elementary/Early Childhood Education, and are endorsed to conduct a program in a nurturing Christian atmosphere.

Kindergarten Readiness 
Divine Shepherd Preschool is dedicated to providing students with the resources they will need to enter kindergarten with confidence and ability.  Numbers and reading skills are stressed, as well as social interaction skills and problem solving.

Creative Play Experiences
Our play-based program is centered around planned interest areas such as:
art,  dramatic play blocks, math/Manipulatives, science, music/movement, and language/reading readiness.

Group Time Experiences
Stories, songs, show & tell, discussions,    exposure to colors, numbers, letter sounds, shapes, size and name recognition to name just a few.

Field trips
Monthly Field trips may include: Pumpkin Patch, Apple orchard, Thurston Nature Center (pond and woods), Domino‘s Farms, Real Life Farm, Thematic & seasonal walks. 

Outdoor Play
A fenced play yard is provided with large   muscle equipment.  We go outdoors every day the weather permits.

It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethic origin in administration of it’s policies and programs.  However, enrollment is limited to those who are considered within the range of "normal" (emotionally and mentally) since we are not staffed and equipped to adequately serve the needs of children beyond this range.
