Please note from June 15 to August 31, our Summer Sunday Worship is at 9:30 a.m.
(currently on summer vacation...returns September 7th.)
Worship is central to our life together. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday at Divine Shepherd. As Lutheran Christians, we believe that we receive the very body and blood of our Lord Christ under the bread and wine of His Holy Supper, and we believe that we are given His gifts of forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.
The Order of Service used each week is in a traditional liturgical format. Some of the hymns and the service music may be "new," but the flow of the service is in the timeless style of the Church's worship. Our Lord speaks to us . . . we listen . . . we say back to Him what He has said to us
Our main instrument in worship is our organ. Divine Shepherd is thankful to have Mr. Wilbur Miller serving as our organist. Wilbur is a resident of Ann Arbor, and a graduate of the School of Church Music and Worship at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY.
Our congregation has a number of musicians who play piano, flute, violin, cello, clarinet, and trumpet in services. Our Divine Shepherd Family Choir is made up of singers of all ages, and sings on a regular basis in worship. New choir members are always welcome at our Wednesday rehearsals (after the Worship service.) and we also welcome new instrumentalists. |
